Description

Use: widely used in outdoor construction (such as beams and rail road ties) and for furniture, decorative elements, carving and sculptures.

Characteristics: sapwood and heartwood differentiated with the former very light yellowish and the latter ivory to brown or dark yellowish with veins clearly visible. Hardwood, medium heavy and very resistant to plant and animal parasites.

Drying: fast and easy.

Surface: the grain is generally straight, even if the presence of knots can cause irregularities. Texture medium to coarse. The surface has a moderate natural shine.

Gluing: presents no particular difficulty.
