Description

Use: used in heavy carpentry, in furnishings, for the steps of indoor stairs and wood flooring, as well as for decorative elements.

Characteristics: the sapwood is narrow with yellowish-greyish tones; the heartwood is reddish brown with stronger tones and dark in older wood.

Drying: drying is not very easy because the wood has a strong tendency to warp and deform.

Surface: medium texture, varied grain, but not as intertwined as in Sapelli Mahogany.

Gluing: both types of joints are easy to make, effective and durable. The possible presence of silica makes it more difficult to work.
