Description

Use: use very similar to Kosipo Mahogany and mainly for heavy woodwork.

Characteristics: light sapwood with whitish or pink hues. The heartwood is light reddish or reddish-brown with different shades depending on the area of origin of the wood.

Drying: drying is not particularly difficult and results in average shrinkage.

Surface: medium to coarse texture, grain mostly straight, occasionally intertwined and wavy. The application of varnishes can sometimes be difficult because of the presence of antioxidants in the wood. 

Gluing: screw or nail joints are not problematic. Glue joints may be more difficult.
