Description

Use: construction in general, flooring and works requiring long permanence in the water or moist soil.

Characteristics: sapwood yellowish-brownish, at times with greyish tones. The heartwood is differentiated from the sapwood with light brown tones. There are many varieties of Eucalyptus, the most common being Eucalyptus Camaldulensis (redder shades) and Eucalyptus Quadrangulata (lighter colours).

Drying: drying must be done very slowly and can sometimes be problematic because it is subject to longitudinal cracks. The wood is subject to excessive shrinkage.

Surface: medium-fine texture with variable, sometimes very intertwined grain. 

Gluing: the wood is hard to and gluing requires great attention.
