Description
Use: particularly used for interior finishings. The root is much sought after for its soft and varied appearance.
Characteristics: Ash is distinguished for its typical dark streaks (which are accentuated over time) that make it look like olive wood. The alternation of light and dark annual rings makes it a very decorative wood.
Drying: must be slow and at moderate temperatures. It is a wood that tends to warp, while surface cracks and crevices are rarer.
Surface: easily worked, it bends and is easily stained with all products.
Gluing: ideal for glue joints. Screw joints are also used.
