Description

Use: in the furniture industry for kitchen, living room and bedroom furniture. Because of the typical defects of this wood, it is generally used by furniture-makers only for short lengths.

Characteristics: the colouration varies based on the amount of time that has passed from its cutting: whitish when fresh and then becoming light rosy brown and finally darker shades. It is difficult to find high-quality specimens of this wood, since it often has spots and knots.

Drying: drying is fast and easy.

Surface: fairly straight grain, moderately fine and uniform texture. Applying varnishes and lacquers is easy.

Gluing: all types of joints are good and effective.
